Prek Thnout (Anlong Thom) is an eco-tourism resort which is located in Prek Kreng village, Prek Thnout commune, Kampot district,Kampot province, on the bottom of Bokor mountain.We can arrive this natural resort by traveling along national road 3 (Kampot- Veal Rinh), about 28 kilometers from the provincial town and 2 kilometers from the main road. When we arrive between the kilometer number 177 and 178, we will see the gate of Hun Sen Prek Thnout High School on the right side and a big welcome poster of Prek Thnout resort as well.Traveling along the 1600 meters-long red soil path,along with the local villagers' residents,we will arrive the resort. It was established in the end of 2007 by the eco-tourism community of Prek Thnout commune with the aid of Save Cambodia's Wildlife (SCW). It was supposed to replace Toeuk Chhou resort in order to attract more and more tourists because nowadays Toeuk Chhou's water is not clean enough to swim like before. It is expected to be supported by local and foreign visitors who are interested in beautiful natural environment.
Mr.Chhoum Chhum,the community leader of Anlong Thom, has mentioned that there are many attractive sites to visit such as Anlong thom, Anlong Khiev, Anlong Thmor Da,Anlong Deum Chumpou and the combination point of fresh water and sea water. If the tourists tend to go to visit the sea which is only about 3 kilometers far from the resort, they can rent the community fishermen's boats to see dolphins between April and May or September and October.Also, they can naturally enjoy watching lightning bugs at night.As well as that, the community provides the tourists with local home-stay service. Each house can welcome 6-8 visitors.The most interesting features of this resort are enough safety,clean and quiet environment and reasonable food price limited by the community leader.
